About us

We exist for founders who measure success in years, not quarters.

Our story

Small Giants Academy began as a long table of friends in a kitchen in Lisbon. We were founders, editors, and operators in the middle of building things we cared about — and we kept finding ourselves asking the same kinds of questions, the kind that don't fit on a slide.

What started as a dinner became a reading circle. The reading circle became a retreat. The retreat became a fellowship. Five years in, we are still figuring out what we are — but we are clear about what we're for: making it easier for purpose-driven people to do their best work together.

We are deliberately small. We turn down more than we accept. We take our time. The people we work with become the people we work for, in a circle that has only grown more interesting each year.

The people

A small team. A vast network.

Behind every program is a group of humans you can call by name — and a wider circle of mentors, hosts and friends.

What we believe

Values, written down.

Purpose as architecture

Mission isn't decoration. It's the load-bearing beam of every choice we make.

Relationships are the curriculum

What you learn from the people next to you outlasts any framework.

Craft over scale

We'd rather do fewer things with care than more things with noise.

Slow is a feature

The questions worth asking take longer than a sprint allows.

Honesty is a discipline

We say what we mean, and ask others to do the same.

Belonging without sameness

Disagreement is welcome; contempt is not.
